A Quick Hello...
...and some useful L.A. links.
Lately I’ve been fortunate to garner lots of new subscribers here.
A) Welcome, and thank you!
B) I’m a little behind on posting here, on what is essentially my personal blog (as opposed to my two magazines).
I have a few pieces in the works, but the world has been so brutal and heartbreaking lately, I’ve struggled to focus, and to know exactly what it is I want to say. I’m not interested in putting out half-baked work, so I’m going to take a little more time with those.
I’ve got one nearly finished essay on my fear of pursuing the topic I’m most obsessed with…One about my late friend Pennel, his friendship with Adam Scott, and what artistic failure can do to people, especially when those around them are succeeding…One about the embarrassingly bad look that is people with the last viable jobs in media dunking on those of us trying to create sustainable publications here on Substack.
I’ll get to these essays before long. I’m just catching my breath for a moment (and trying to curb my overwork).
