Wow, Julie and WIICOTU... 😲 But also this is SO exactly where I'm at: "I’m mourning the death of my understanding of how the world is supposed to work, basic human rights, and how people are supposed to treat one another. I’ve been joking that "Free to Be…You and Me" didn’t prepare me for this moment..."

Sari! I absolutely loved the audio clip. And the photos of Julie. And your understanding that Julie probably nudged the giver of your sweet gift to send it to you at just the moment you needed it. We may not know how life works, but it seems clear we carry on, don't we, in the rain and leaves and wind and in the influences layered upon influences because of how we showed up in others' lives and how they, thus, showed up in others' lives, and on and on. The older I get, the more I understand that.

Thanks for this beautiful post.

As a fellow “Free To Be…You and Me” kid, amen. And I’m so grateful to finally have a face to go with Source Energy. ❤️

Part of me is glad you found out because I feel like it’s such a perfect gift it makes sense to want to know, but I also loved the idea that Julie found a way to give it to you. Or maybe both are true! The way you describe your friendship is so touching. Hope you’re feeling better soon.

Holy cow. I had a Julie dream last week, Sari! We met when I was New York House's managing editor and she was the designer. In the dream, she was driving a bus I was riding on and it made an unscheduled stop. But Julie very impishly wouldn't tell me how long the stop was, or where the bus was eventually going. It was great to "see" her. She's got my vote for new WIICOTU!
