I hope you find the test and possible diagnosis interesting as well as validating, but you certainly do seem to be going into the process with the right frame of reference. Have fun!
Exciting! I look forward to hearing whatever bits you choose to share. I hope you'll comment then on what a diagnosis means to you. As someone (also) diagnosed in her late adulthood, I felt underwhelmed with my results. What was I supposed to do now?? I guess my family thought it was fun to have explanations for all my quirks, LOL, so there was that. "Why is Mom wearing her shirts inside out? The seams drive her crazy." Ha.
Happy birthday, Libran! I hope that if you get a diagnosis, it is useful to you. I was diagnosed with ADHD at age 52, and the diagnosis is sometimes useful.
I'm also saddened to hear that you've had such crummy readings with Tarot readers and astrologers (I am onesuch). I do think it's a hit-and-miss art, as in, not every reading will offer forth some kind of perfectly hewn, specific vision of one's future. But the vibes are usually pretty damned spot-on; often it takes a while to realize that.
I am a big fan of Oldster and was a subscriber for a while. I've been mooching off your cool Substack for free. If you'd like the gift of a birthday reading to accompany your neuropsych reading, get in touch! Free, of course. Birthday presents are like that. burningtarot (at) gmail or tiffanyleebrown.com if you want to get a sense of what I do. And totally fine if you are Absolutely Over the woo-woo and don't want to take me up on this!! See Lewis Hyde's "The Gift."
I often do audio recordings for readings now, because what I've heard from so many clients, and experienced myself as an astrology client: being able to come back and listen to the same reading months later can reveal a hell of a lot. Not always "A tall dark stranger will come into your life," but usually more general vibey and energy information about influences on the client. That information can be useful to integrate into everyday life.
Sometimes it's really specific and psychic and maybe creepy. "Someone in your family is sick," I told one querent. "No, we're all fine." "Go to the doctor!" (Normally I don't tell querents what to DO, but this one seemed so urgent.) Well, six months later, a horrible death in the family, that might have been prevented. When it does happen, the specifics can be useful or revelatory. But we have to listen to the Woo in order to act on it, and that takes a leap of faith.
Well, happy birthday and may your neuropsych experience be less annoying and exhausting than mine was!
Another honest post. I identify with you. We’ll see if you share the results. I have a feeling (not psychic) based on your posts, that you will use whatever they find to your advantage. That is such a different way to have to reschedule.
Happy happy birthday. 🎊 Speaking as someone who was diagnosed autistic at age 36, there was a curious mix of relief when the diagnosis came in and also some strange permission to do things my way even more. And there was a lot of grief to process. Practically speaking, I knew I wanted to stop running into the same walls over and over again (mainly in work style and inability to “thrive” long term in corporate environments).
Over time I discovered there were so many barriers to happiness that were of my own making — primarily because all my solutions came from self help books and mental health experts who were “helping” me through the dominant neurotypical lens. Once you throw that lens out once and for all, finding the right help and life rhythms becomes so much easier. And life building does too (sort of). ;-)
Cheering you on as you take this next step. ☀️☀️☀️
Happy birthday! That's a pretty neat tradition, but I like the pivot this year! I've only had 1 experience with any sort of psychic but it turned out to uncannily accurate — I even wrote a post about it. https://noxvitae.substack.com/p/can-tarot-cards-predict-the-future — But I'd be curious to see what results you get this year from the new approach!
Thank you for sharing Sari, my diagnosis changed my life immeasurably, but labels aren't everything and neither are diagnostics, so whatever the outcome I hope this process brings some clarity for you! I will say that in my case the diagnosis was only the beginning and what comes after can be an emotional rollercoaster!
Happy birthday, Sari. I saw that your reading was postponed. Whether you ultimately do anything with the knowledge you gain from this experience, knowing yourself and understanding your own mind and what drives your thought patterns and behaviors has no downside, right? I want to thank you for making aging cool and for normalizing and celebrating — not shunting aside — our fellow Gen Xers and Boomers. I've been leaning more into life as a Gen Xer in my own writing, no doubt influenced by you. Have a great day! xo

Interesting! We shall see. Will post here.
Happy birthday, fellow Libra!
And to you, Courtney, from another one!
Happy birthday to you too, John!

Thanks, Tiffany! I might just take you up on that.
I adore the drawing! Great post.
Thank you!

Thanks and glad to know you identify. I will post about my results when I have them!
Happy belated birthday! I’ll be interested to read about the results you receive and how they might affect you at this stage of your life.
My Mom is 89 now and struggles with a lot of mental health issues. I think it’s possible she had undiagnosed ADHD. Hindsight, of course.
Thanks! And how interesting...
Had the same revelation recently. 🫶
I love this way of looking at birthdays as an opportunity not just to celebrate but to learn shout yourself. Happy birthday in advance!
Thanks, Rachel!

Thank you, Amanda! And, interesting. I will keep all of this in mind as I embark on this. xo
Happy birthday 🎈! And brava for your ever present curiosity, your intuition, and desire to understand yourself. I love your birthday present to self!!
Thanks, Natalie!

Happy birthday, Sari.
Looking forward to hearing what you learn. I've never been formally tested, but I score high on every self-test out there.
Thanks, John! I’ll share here!
